Prestashop Module: Installation and Administration Guide

Installation and updates

Go to https://unisend.lv/en/plugins to find the latest version of the plugin for Latvia.

Go to https://unisend.ee/en/plugins to find the latest version of the plugin for Estonia.

Installation

After installation, the module is added to the general plugins list, where you can change its settings, enable/disable it, or reset to default settings.

Main module settings

After opening the Module Manager page and finding the Unisend Shipping module in the general list, click the "Configure" button and make the necessary configurations.

Authorization

To proceed with the module setup, you need to complete the authorization process.

Attention: Authorization is only available for Unisend clients with a service contract and enabled API access.

You can enable API access and obtain authorization credentials within your Unisend self-service account.

Sender information

In the sender's information section, it is required to enter the sender's name, e-mail address, phone number and address. The information specified in this section will be visible in the printed documents.

Pickup information

Select "Yes" and fill in the pickup address information if pickup is relevant to you and your pickup address differs from the sender's address you provided.

The information provided here will be used as the primary address for the courier to pick up the prepared shipments.

Call courier

To use the manual or automatic courier call feature at a scheduled time, coordination with Unisend is required for service activation. If this service is not enabled, the courier will be called automatically after each shipment is created.

Select "Yes" and mark the days on which you wish to automatically schedule the courier for pickup at the desired time.

Select "No" if you do not wish to automatically schedule the courier. In this case, you can manually call the courier from the orders list.

In the Unisend (1) formed orders page (2), select the orders (3) for which you wish to call the courier, or at the bottom of the page, via the bulk actions button (4), select all orders at once and call the courier (5).

Package Size

Specify your most commonly used package size, which will be applied by default when creating shipment labels.

If you want to apply a different size than the default one for individual orders, you can adjust it before creating the shipment in the order page.

Shipping rates

Shipping settings

Shipping methods are managed through the default Carriers page – “Shipping” > “Carriers” (1). The page displays all the shipping methods created by the module.

Select the shipping methods you need (2) and enable them using the bulk actions button at the bottom of the page.

After enabling the required shipping method, you can configure it. Click the "Edit" button (4).

Step by step, fill in (5) the shipping method name, duration, specify the shipping cost, and the conditions under which this shipping method will be available. Navigate between the configuration steps using the "Next" button and save the settings with the "Finish" button (6).

Shipping to Baltic States Parcel Lockers

If previously, shipping was restricted to your own country, you'll need to enable shipping to other countries. If these countries are already enabled in your store, you can skip the first step.

Enable the countries to which you will ship. Let's say you're from Latvia and want to send to Estonian parcel lockers. Navigate to International > Locations (1) > Countries (2), locate the countries you need, and click the [x] (3) symbol in the "Enabled" column.

2. If the required countries are already accessible to your customers on the checkout page, there's no need for additional shipping settings.

3. Simply enable your preferred shipping method. If you've previously shipped to parcel lockers with Unisend in your country, there's nothing else to enable.

Cash On Delivery (COD)

Our plugin uses the standard Prestashop Cash on Delivery (COD) functionality. To be able to create shipments with the COD service, it is sufficient for this payment method to be active in your online store.

If you do not see this payment method in your online store, you can download and install this add-on from the official Prestashop modules site: - https://addons.prestashop.com/en/point-of-sale-pos/24637-cash-on-delivery-cod.html

Orders placed using the COD payment method will automatically have the COD service enabled in our module and the order amount specified, which we recommend checking before creating the shipment on the order page.

Printing labels and manifests

Printing labels can be done in two ways. First, when you want to generate labels using mass action, i.e., for all selected orders at once. Second, when you want to create a label for a specific order.

Labels are generated based on the default settings configured at the beginning of module setup.

You can view and process Unisend shipments in a separate page linked only to orders associated with Unisend.

In this page, you can:

Bulk labels printing

Handling multiple orders is categorized according to their status.

Unisend orders - only those store orders processed using Unisend shipping methods are displayed. To perform further actions with the shipments listed here, it is necessary to save these orders.

Saved orders - displays all saved orders for which shipments can be formed.

Formed orders - displays all successfully formed orders. On this final shipment formation page, you will see the barcodes of all created shipments, their statuses, and you can print labels and other documents, as well as call the courier.

Label for a single shipment

If you want to create a shipment only for a single order, you can edit the shipment details on the order page. Here, in the Unisend settings section at the bottom of the page, you can change:

After making the necessary changes, click the "Save" button (1). After saving the order, you can create a shipment (2).

For the created shipment, you can print the label, call the courier, or cancel the shipment and repeat the creation process.

CN declarations

You can fill out or edit CN declaration information on the order page in the Unisend section. Click the "Fill declaration" button (1) and fill out the form that appears in the modal window (2). After filling out the form, close the window (3) and click the "Save" button (4).

The data provided for CN declarations is automatically generated, so this step is only necessary if you want to modify the information that has already been generated. After correcting the declaration information, when generating the label, the CN declaration will be automatically added along with the label; there is no need to print it separately. You can print the CN declaration for all orders through bulk actions by selecting "Bulk Actions" -> "Print documents" in the list of Unisend formed orders.

Shipment tracking

Important Notice: To keep your shipment statuses updated automatically, you'll need to set up a Cron Job. Detailed instructions can be found at the top of the module's configuration page. We suggest getting help from a programmer, server expert, or someone familiar with these tasks to set it up for you.

Once you've set up the Cron Jobs correctly, you can track the changes in shipment statuses during the delivery process. You'll find these updates on the Unisend Orders page (1), in the Formed orders section (2), under the "Order Status" column (3).

Shipment tracking is done using the barcode provided during shipment creation.

The Barcode column is available on the Unisend orders page.

The "Tracking number" is displayed when expanding the order details on the general PrestaShop orders page.

Buyers can track their shipments through the tracking link provided by PrestaShop. When you update the order status to "Shipped," PrestaShop automatically sends an email to the buyer containing the tracking link. Additionally, buyers can find the tracking link in their account by viewing the order details.
