The postage stamp "Contemporary Art of Lithuania. Graphics" was created by an artist Domantas Vildžiūnas. An art piece "Sitting" of the artist Mr. Repšys is used in the stamp.  The new stamp released with the nominal value of EUR 0.48 and in the edition of 300 thousand copies.

"The stamp is one of the best ways to present the art, culture, and most famous artists of the country to the world. Creation of the designer Juozas Statkevičius has already been memorialized in the continuous series of postage stamps "Contemporary Art of Lithuania". This time we present a well-known graphic artist – painter Mr. Repšys and his pieces of art. A postage stamp is also considered as a graphic genre, therefore, a work of art memorialized in the stamp perfectly represents the graphic art," Head of Corporate Affairs Department of Lithuania Post Rasa Kruopaitė-Lalienė said.

The new stamp, designated to represent contemporary art of Lithuania – graphics, appeared in circulation on October 8.

Graphics is a branch of visual art, and it includes drawings, prints, illustrations of books and periodicals, caricatures, postage stamps, etc. Lithuania has been popularized around the world by works of a graphic artist, illustrator, creator of medals, ex-libris, and frescoes Petras Repšys (1940). The artist's works have been evaluated by several tens of various awards. According to art critics, Mr. Repšys has brought art closer to science by visual interpretation of Lithuanian culture history, using primary sources, discussing with experts in various fields during the creative process, so that he could be considered as the first multidisciplinary creator in the country.

In the course of a year, Lithuania Post issues on average 25-27 postage stamps. Lithuania Post also provides courier, logistic, and financial intermediation services.
